"Close to the Abyss"

For my compositions in the series “Close to the Abyss”, I used the application of a wool fiber needle – felting with the textile surface and adding monotypes. This technique (as a result of a ritual process), creates a subtle hint to a woman’s emotional world and the lingering feeling of perdition. Dark background textile compositions in the solution help highlight cautious coloring formed like mountain ranges. In depicting the mountains – like a woman of absolute reality, a reflection of the world, the connection between heaven and earth. Textile works observed in open composition reinforces an impression of space, poor man, and a huge mountain ratio – the uncertainty and the potential outcome of death or fusion with the absolute.

Mano tekstilės kompozicijų cikle „Arti bedugnės“, pritaikius vilnos pluošto prismaigstymą (tarsi ritualinio proceso rezultatą) adata prie tekstilinio paviršiaus, bei papildant jį monotipijos technika, sukuriama subtili užuomina į moters emocinį pasaulį ir tvyrančią pražūties nuojautą. Tamsūs foniniai tekstilės kompozicijų sprendimai padeda išryškinti santūriu koloritu suformuotus kalnų masyvus. Vaizduojami kalnai – tarsi moters absoliučios realybės, pasaulio atspindys, ryšys tarp dangaus ir žemės. Tekstilės darbuose pastebima atvira kompozicija sustiprina erdvės įspūdį, menko žmogaus ir didžiulio kalno santykis – neapibrėžtumą ir galimą baigtį mirtyje, susiliejimą su Absoliutu.
